A resident of Central Tacoma, Matt is running for the Metro Parks board to advance the success of the parks system for his son and generations to come. Visiting parks is a central pastime for his family so Matt knows that Tacoma has world-class parks. However, access to these parks can be a challenge and Matt wants every resident of the Metro Parks district to have safe access to a park within a 10 minute walk from their home. This means adding more access points to parks and implementing safety improvements to the pedestrian and bicycle approaches. Matt envisions parks that bring communities together and increase the quality of life for its visitors. He believes increasing non-motorized access for all is the best way to realize this vision.
